Who it’s for
Knowing their students and working through their problems is what teachers are hired for, and most of what matters is right in front of them. Actful-KPI gives its biggest edge to the decisions above the classroom: a principal choosing where to put an extra support, or district leaders deciding which schools need resources and which practices to spread. It shows them, across every classroom and school, where to act first and what’s working.
Teachers benefit from the subtler signals, the ones no single classroom shows: a student slipping in every course but theirs, absences that cluster on one day or period, friends who start missing school together, or attendance drifting down so gradually it never looks like a problem on any one day.
How Actful-KPI is built
Actful-KPI has three tiers.
- Platform. The base runtime: database framework, UI shell, composition engine and entitlements. You install it once on your own servers.
- KPIs. Reusable measures, each with its own data, classification and self-validation.
- Aggregation Products. One or more KPIs combined into a purpose-built view for the people who can act on them.
Designed to be understood at a glance
A KPI only helps if people take in what it’s telling them, quickly enough to act. So every chart, colour and badge in Actful-KPI has one job: get the pertinent information across in the least time. A principal should see where to focus in seconds, not after a meeting.
We think hard about each visual, from a colour scale that stays readable for colour-blind viewers to a fan chart that puts the most concerning schools at 12 o’clock, so you know where to start reading. We’ve used AI to help refine those designs, testing how quickly each one is understood and simplifying until it lands.
The KPI catalog
The base framework starts with the attendance and grade KPIs. Further KPI components plug into the same framework, which loads each one’s data logic and dashboards. Each comes with a scorecard: what it needs, what it tells you, and what to do about it.
Built for agent-assisted IT
The documentation is written so your own team, or your own AI assistant, can install, configure, validate and extend the system. The golden-path install is deterministic and needs no AI. Assistants help on top of that, they’re never required.
Where it fits
Most of the school data the KPIs need, such as enrolments, attendance and grades, comes straight from your Student Information System (SIS). Staff and related data can come from a unified data hub such as SIF-HUB, so those numbers match the same clean source as everything else.
SIF-HUB serves other applications too. ContactPortal, for example, is a parent self-service portal built on the hub, where families keep their contact details current and register for the bus. Ask us if it would suit your district.
